Peaceful Unspoiled Time
Blissful Current Moment
A Blessed Different Epoch; A Grateful Untrained Age; A Contented Untouched Era; A Peaceful Unspoiled Time; A Blissful Current Moment! Wow, these are just some of the combinations I come up with from a few synonyms in Roget’s Thesaurus for Happy, New and Year. See what you can come up with. Feel the vibration of your words as you read and verbalize them together.
While it is useful to reflect on 2021 – our accomplishments; disappointments; and the collective consciousness of our community and world, we must be willing to LET IT GO in order to make room for new ideas and the manifestation of what we really want in our lives. In my experience, we are constantly speaking and thinking about what we “don’t like or don’t want” = resistance. The irony in this, as Carl Jung so profoundly summed it up, is that “What You Resist Persists.” Some illuminating synonyms for “Resistance” are Impediment; Blocking; Halting; Retardation, and Struggle. It doesn’t feel freeing or like forward movement to me when I add these descriptors to my aforementioned list of synonyms for a Happy New Year.
I love words. They have power, beauty and vibrational frequency (creative life force) depending on the way that we combine them. Words can create ideas, action, reality and the vibrational possibility and potentiality of Health, Wealth and Joy. The unspoken word, perhaps even more powerful, often dwelling in an unconscious part of our psyche can create the antithesis of these (note, I do not give voice or credence to the contrary). If we desire a happy, new, year we do have to become aware of what conscious and unconscious thoughts are blocking, halting and retarding what we want in our lives.
It is also my observation, that the thing or being we are in direct opposition to may be the key that unlocks what we have been hoping and dreaming for. When we are able to lean into the perceived discomfort with the faith of a mustard seed we often glean new perspective and the strength to move beyond limiting thoughts and belief systems. This can free us to create and manifest our ultimate dreams.
The Dali Lama is a beautiful example of this process.
Excerpt from the Vancouver Peace Summit:
“Compassion for our fellow human beings is the key to happiness”
We should begin by removing the greatest hindrances to compassion: anger and hatred. As we all know, these are extremely powerful emotions and they can overwhelm our entire mind. Nevertheless, they can be controlled and replaced by an equally forceful energy that stems from compassion, reason and patience . . .
I must also emphasize that merely thinking about compassion and reason and patience will not be enough to develop them. We must wait for difficulties to arise and then attempt to practice them. And who creates such opportunities? Not our friends, of course, but our enemies. They are the ones who give us the most trouble. So if we truly wish to learn, we should consider enemies to be our best teachers. For a person who cherishes compassion and love, the practice of tolerance is essential, and for that, an enemy is indispensable. So we should feel grateful to our enemies, for it is they who can best help us develop a tranquil mind.
One of the key words in the phrase “let go” is the word let. Allowing myself to let go means stepping out in faith. I can relax and allow myself to simply be. I let go of the need to be in control. I remember that I do not have to know and do everything. I do not have to be in charge; I can relax and just be. What a freeing feeling. What a comfort to know I do not have to do anything alone.
My family and I enjoy singing the refrain to a popular Disney soundtrack from the movie, “Frozen” in those times that we catch ourselves holding on to something like a dog with a bone. Isn’t “frozen” synonymous with resistance, halting, thwarting and struggle?
You may have heard the song, “Let It Go” on the radio. We actually have the sing-along edition of the film and I highly recommend it. It is a beautiful reminder of how we can lose our way – yet we can always begin again. Letting go, however, is a prerequisite
Excerpt from “Let It Go,” by Idina Menzel:
It’s funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can’t get to me at all
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
’m free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go…
Wishing you a clean slate, and a clear path to manifest the reality of your dreams!
Be concise about what you do want and watch the Universe step up to meet you.
Be mindful of those unconscious don’ts and let them go!
It’s time to see what you can do…. A Blessed Different Epoch; A Grateful Untrained Age; A Contented Untouched Era; A Peaceful Unspoiled Time; A Blissful Current Moment!
